2022 Annual Appeal

This continues to be such a challenging time not only for us, but for the whole world. Recall what Pope Francis said, “This is not a time for indifference because the whole world is suffering and needs to be united in facing the pandemic.” Just as we celebrated the Feast of Pentecost last week, the Holy Spirit descends upon Companions to make a difference in our communities and the lives of the marginalized.

There is so much more wisdom from Pope Francis’ “Urbi et Orbi.” His message to the city of Rome and the whole world inspires the work that we do as Companions. He encouraged political leaders “to work actively for the common good, to provide the means and resources needed to enable everyone to lead a dignified life.” This is what we try to do in our lives as Companions.  Our program could end without new recruits and without your response to this Annual Appeal. Our goal this year is to raise $3000 by June 30th.

Many of our ministries have been put on hold during the pandemic, but the power of prayer and the spirit of community within our cohorts remains strong. The Regional Council is creatively discerning new opportunities for spirituality and accompaniment as we face this challenge together.

This year’s appeal covers three things: Firstly, we ask that you continue to stay safe and healthy as sub-variants of COVID-19 spread.  Secondly, as with all organizations, we need to take care of our financial obligations and we need your help to do this. This year, we created a 2-minute video explaining what Ignatian Companions is about and that can be used for recruiting. In addition, we made a major investment updating the First Year guide. Please be as generous as you are able to help keep Ignatian Companions fiscally strong. For example,
  • $100 will provide a copy of our Guide for the Journey.
  • $250 will provide a scholarship for a Companion with limited income.
  • $500 will assist with the costs of the beginning and closing retreats.
  • $2000 will support one of our program facilitators for a year.

If you wish to donate, you may send a check made payable to Ignatian Spiritual Life Center with Ignatian Companions in the memo line, and mail to 1025 Masonic Ave., San Francisco, CA 94117. Or, you can make an online donation by clicking the Donate button below.

Lastly, if you have not been active for some time in Companions, we invite you to consider coming back and joining us in the upcoming program year. If you are interested, contact Marco at Marco@SaintAgnesSF.org or (415) 297-7954.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as we journey through this stage of the pandemic.
